At the Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad from May 17 to 22, we will meet 1,000 exhibitors, with this year’s strategic partner – Italy.

Director of the Novi Sad Fair Slobodan Cvetković (Slobodan Cvetković – former Minister of Economy of Serbia) announced today at the Palace of Italy (Palace of Italy, Kneza Miloša 56, Belgrade, ITA Agency office in Belgrade) that more than 1,000 exhibitors from 40 countries will be represented at the 92nd International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad from May 17 to 22, of which Italy will be a strategic partner. I will visit the fair as an Independent STO Inspector, probably May 20 and 21, Tuesday and Wednesday. Meet 1000 exhibitors would take a lot of stamina, energy and time. But I hope it will be worth it in the long run.
Cvetković told Tanjug that Italy will be an exhibitor at the event for the 13th time in a row, and this time as a strategic partner of the fair, 15 companies will be presented.
In Hall 1 of the Novi Sad fair, in addition to Italy, the delegation of the European Union, but also of other national exhibitions, such as Spain, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Montenegro, North Macedonia and the Chamber of Commerce of the Republika Srpska, will be presented, he said, adding that visits from Cuba and Argentina will also be organized.
The Ambassador of Italy in Belgrade, Luka Gori, announced that the Italian pavilion will be on 350 square meters with 15 companies at this year’s fair in Novi Sad.
Cvetković stated that in these, as he said, rather complex times, political and of any other nature, as well as international, we managed to secure around 1,000 exhibitors from 40 countries of the world. He also added that the Day of Cooperatives will be celebrated during the fair on May 19. 2025
Director Cvetković estimated that artificial intelligence and its presence in agriculture will play a key role this year, as well as that the fair will justify its role as the most important agribusiness forum in Serbia and the region.
Speaking about the pandemic of foot-and-mouth disease and smallpox in sheep, he said that it is a “small handicap” that the fair will face this time, because there will not be a traditional exhibition of live exhibits in the section dedicated to animal husbandry. That’s the bad news for me as a lover of those lovely cows and joyful porkers. I hope to meet at least some chickens, geese and ducks, instead.
“We have a handicap this year, – continues Direktor Cvetković, – due to the occurrence of foot-and-mouth disease, blue tongue, as well as smallpox in sheep. That’s why, according to the recommendation of the Veterinary Administration, we will be left without live exhibits in the exhibition area related to animal husbandry. What is left as an option is that there will be two show jumping and harness racing, and we will do our best to organize that part of the fairground additionally,” he pointed out.
He also announced that during the fair, all those who buy a ticket will be able to participate in a raffle for a “John Deere 5045D” tractor. I’m in! I am definitely interested in winning my own nice John Deer model, green color as always.

American Corner
American Corner is a Discussion Club for English Speakers and English Language Students or Aficionados in Novi Sad Vojvodina.
It does receive some financiing via US Embassy in Belgrade, but also has some financial support by the local Department of Culture. Members of the Club are free to come and go, no registration is required. So, it’s come one, come all policy, friendly and flexible. Anibody welcome here as long as they could speak a little or more English.
Sessions are every Monday or Wednesday from 18.30 to 20.00. Summertime is generally off time since Club members go on vacations to apply and use and put to practice their skills of English speakers.
The American Corner is not far from the city center in a library at the Danube River Kay.
